Yamaha YZF R1The 2011 Yam sportbike is a MotoGP inspired motorcycle in the open class – the first to introduce a crossplane crankshaft working in conjunction with uneven firing order.  Powertrain is an ultra-lightweight 998 cc In-line 4-cylinder, 16-valve, titanium intake valve, DOHC engine.  The engine is paired to a compact, close-ratio 6-speed transmission, yielding a massive 180 hp at 12500 rpm and 85 lb.ft. of peak torque at 10000 rpm. Ram air induction is utilize to force intake air via dual ducts beside the projector headlights to help induce maximum power.  Yamaha YZF R1 race bike sports a sleek side fairing incorporating two projector type bulb.  An aluminum deltabox frame with extra long aluminum truss-type swingarm improves rigidity and balance.  Suspension features a fully adjustable inverted fork with independent left-right damping, and link monocross rear suspension.   Enhanced braking performance is given by 6-piston caliper dual front rotor with Brembo master cylinder and single piston Nissin rear caliper.  Exhaust system is a  4-2-1-2 titanium with dual shorty, large diameter, triangle shaped, under seat muffler.
